"As an artist living in the world of a digital era of perfection, every day I am more and more inspired to create by hand. I feel it’s important we keep this element within artwork today, as it gives a vibrant handmade feel that would not be there if done solely on the computer. I thought it to be very appropriate for this project too, as it’s community based. I illustrated a colourful neon sign feel for the designs, to reflect the improved lighting. I also illustrated various symbols which include a leaf to highlight the improved greenery, a heart for connectivity, and an arrow for way-finding. As well as this, a lightbulb for ideas, creativity & lighting.. and a Belisha beacon which lights up the street."
