Invitation for expressions of interest from community members to sit on a project group to oversee the delivery of the Westway Community Street

As part of Westway Trust's commitment to put the community at the centre of everything we do, we are now inviting applications from members of our community to sit on a project group to oversee the delivery of the Community Street project.

Purpose of the Project Group

The project group will oversee the delivery of the Community Street project ensuring it is delivered on time and on budget. The group will assist will challenges and issues which may arise during the delivery phase as well as keep the team informed about activities which may be happening locally which may impact the project.

Time commitment

The Group is time limited for the duration of the delivery of the Community Street project – 18 months from August 2021.  The Group will meet once every 2 months for approximately 2hrs.

Meetings will be held at a time and date convenient to the members of the Project Group, not necessarily in working hours. Meetings will be in person or online as agreed by the group.

Remuneration

Community Members who are selected to sit on the project group will be offered a payment of £50 per meeting to cover their time, expenses and loss of earnings.

Criteria

We are seeking 4 community representatives who meet the following criteria:

  • Live or work in one of the 5 wards of North Kensington – St Helen’s, Golborne, Notting Dale, Colville and Dalgarno - or demonstrate a considerable interest in these wards.

  • Knowledge of the Trust and its social purpose.

  • Have a good understanding of the local area and the needs of a specific community or communities in North Kensington.

  • Have a vision for the area under the Westway that will bring about long-term sustainable change for the community.

Conflict of Interest

Members must declare to the group where their personal or professional interests are in conflict (or could be in conflict) with the interests or business of the project group.

If you are interested in being part of this Steering Group, please complete an expression of interest form and email it to: communitystreet@westway.org.

Deadline for expressions of interest: 5pm, 31 August 2021
